Select Engineered Systems
Access control systems play a vital role for companies that need to manage a flow of individuals through their property or to safeguard certain secure areas that contain sensitive data or valuable goods. However, not every access control system has the necessary functionality and physical robustness to work well with every sort of site.
Fortunately, AT&I has partnered with Select Engineered Systems, Inc. (SES), a manufacturer of access-control components that can be customized to work with many different kinds of facilities.
What Are SES’ Access and Gate Control Systems?
At its most basic level, an access control system needs to be able to allow credentialed individuals to gain entry to or otherwise influence the normal operations of a facility. This can be accomplished through any number of credentialing methods, including cards, key fobs, passwords, and biometric data. SES offers multiple systems with different capabilities and credentialing methods. These include the following:
Controlled Access Technology (CAT System). A capable access control hub that can interface with as many as 16 doors and 255 relay points, the CAT system is able to connect with 16 doors and 255 relay points, allowing users to control elevators, HVAC, lights, or any other applications requiring activation or monitoring. While the base system comes with a coded keypad to facilitate entry, add-on modules can introduce a CAT card reader and always-online capability.
TEC1 Series. Ideal for condominiums and multi-family apartment complexes, the TEC1 Series access control system facilitates phone-based access control. Options include a weather hood for unsheltered applications, semi-flush mounting, a designer frame, pinhole color camera, and an add-on card reader. Different models can have two or four phone lines to accommodate busy properties, and credentialed phone capacities range from 50 to 995 approved users.
TEC2 Series. Like the TEC1 Series, TEC2 access control systems focus on telephone-based access control. However, this advanced offering contains options such as handset upgrades, card access, and up to a 2,000-phone capacity.
SelectCard / Select Pass Controller. A standalone card-access reader, the SelectCard system is ideal for covering smaller areas. While limited in its coverage area, SelectCard can store the information corresponding to up to 10,000 individually coded cards, making it an ideal solution for highly trafficked areas.
A product in the same family, the Select Pass Controller employs RF transmitters or pin codes to grant access to approved end users. The Select Pass Controller can store 65,000 transmitter codes or pins and includes the ability to automatically add or delete transmitter codes.
Cellular Select Gate Series. The Cellular Select Gate Series is an ideal solution to pair with a nascent or extant gate-entry system. Compatible with any GSM carrier, Cellular Select comes with an AT&T SIM card and allows access via SMS texting or manual code entry. Card access is an available option, and the keypad is LED lit for easy nighttime viewing.
Select Pass and Multi Pass Transmitters and Receivers. Multi-family residential communities often need to rely on different kinds of access control in order to fully serve members’ needs. With Select Pass and Multi Pass transmitters and receivers, credential holders can combine RF transmissions with proximity sensors. This is ideal in situations where authorized parties need to access one area from a distance (e.g., a gate) and another while physically present (e.g., a facility). These transmitters and receivers come with one, two, or four buttons.
SAT3 Series. Designed for priority communications applications, the SAT3 Series is a direct-dial, telephone-based access control system. With a capacity of up to nine preprogramed numbers, these terminals rely on two-way voice communication. Options include flush-mounted and weather-hooded models.
Benefits of Select Engineered Systems Access Control
With more than three decades of design experience, SES prides itself on offering scalable access control solutions that work with companies of every size.
