If the AI-enhanced cameras detect a firearm, they will be visually verified by a human and within 10 seconds initiate your security plan – i.e. contact local police, alert your security team, lock down your building, and send out mass notifications are some of the options available. Before a shot has been fired, your team will be aware of the situation and can move quickly to prevent it from escalating.

How It Works
First, the AI software recognizes a person. Next, it will search for objects or body language that indicate the presence of a firearm. The system doesn’t only look for the shape of a gun; it also analyzes how the object is held, its orientation, and movement. It performs a multistep analysis across multiple video frames to reduce the risk of false alarms – all within a few seconds!
How Is Visual Firearm Detection Installed?
The core of a visual firearm detection (VFD) system is the AI-powered software, which is deployed on a small appliance in your server room. Installation involves connecting your existing surveillance cameras to the VFD appliance.
